2- The Agra fort
During the Mughal Empire, this enormous edifice was largely construct for military purposes. When Shah Jahan (Akbar’s grandson) came to power, he replaced some of the fort’s sandstone structures with marble surrounds, giving the fort a palace-like look. 3- Fatehpur Sikri
During the time of the Mughal Empire, the emperor Akbar constructed Fatehpur Sikri as the capital city. Due to a lack of water, the city’s residents abandoned it after 15 years.
